Elaine Moonen
Director: Volunteer Coordinator
Co-Founder & Social Worker
Elaine Moonen's professional journey is rooted in a deep commitment to social welfare, backed by her UBC Degree in Social Work. Her early career was shaped by extensive experience at the Vancouver Children’s Aid Society, where she developed the critical insights and empathy that continue to guide her work today.
Her clinical background provides a unique perspective on the complexities of domestic abuse, ensuring that the organization's volunteer initiatives are grounded in professional social work standards and compassionate care.
Leadership & Legacy
As a founding member of Domestic Abuse Services in 1995, Elaine has been instrumental in shaping the organization's vision from its inception. Her legacy of service extends through her significant contributions to RCAV Catholic Family Services, where she bridged the gap between faith-based support and professional social assistance.
Throughout the decades, she has remained a steadfast pillar of the DAS community, navigating the organization through growth and transformation while maintaining a laser focus on the safety and recovery of those we serve.
